Chronic Illness

This is something that I live with day-to-day that some people are aware of, but many people don’t understand the extent to which I have been dealing with these issues. This is the reason I find it difficult to stand for long periods of time, and obviously that means modelling is incredibly strenuous on my body. I have been shooting only very occasionally with very select people who I need to make aware of my current condition, and it means a few consecutive days of recovery post-shoot where I am bed-ridden. 

We have been trying so many different things but because I am now immune deficient, I have been catching everything that I am exposed to (including but not limited to Glandular Fever) so my recovery actually appears to be worsening. It’s something that I have been fine to deal with in the past, but it is seriously scary shit for me. For one, the periods of blackout have been growing far more frequent and expanding in length, my joints are swelling more and more painfully, my heart is skipping more with less provocation and I have always cared very strongly about being self-reliant which is something that I am not currently capable of. Another thing is that I am passing the point where people are willing to reach out and help (which I don’t expect them to) but they are becoming less understanding and more demanding of things I simply cannot offer, such as reliably turning up to events. They’re becoming less understanding when I tell them not to call after 7pm, or when I tell them I can’t stay out because I only got 6 hours sleep. 

So I really, really am trying to just live my life but I hope to continue with my career despite these seriously massive drawbacks, but it may take a bit longer than we would all like!
